01.21.09 - Start the car the ice has come.
Between scraping our windshields, treating our frostbite, and saving every penny for our heating bill, we've managed to spend most of this long winter in the studio demoing some songs, and working out plans to record the follow-up to Draw a Distance. Draw a Border.
Hopefully in the next month or so we can share some of those plans for the new album here. But like with anything, when you jump the gun, the worst you can do is harm.
What we can tell you is that we've been invited back to Canadian Music Week for the 3rd year in a row! We're very excited to try out some new songs in Toronto before heading down to Austin, Texas the following week for a couple of shows at SXSW 2009. What an exciting spring, indeed!
11.14.08 - Winter's here.
We want to thank everyone that came out to our shows at Lo Pub last weekend. From the time our pals The Provincial Archive took the stage on Friday night, until we got booted out at closing time from our sold out Saturday night show with Chords of Canada, we had a couple of our most enjoyable evenings.
So... now... what's next for The Details? Well, we're going to lock ourselves away in our practice space for the winter, writing a new records-worth of fresh Manitoban indie rock numbers, while intermittently watching each and every single bonus feature from the soon-to-be-released Dark Knight DVD.
Look for us to show off some new material/post-holiday potbellys in the spring, including our second trip down to Texas for South By Southwest in March.
Winter's here. Drive Safe.
10.10.08 - Lo tickets on sale now!
Have you picked up your tickets for our two night stand at Winnipeg's Lo Pub? Don't forget, you'll save $5 by purchasing them online or at Music Trader.

09.15.08 - Two in a row at the Lo!
Oh, you again! Maybe you've come to wish us well before we embark on our travels across western Canada with Novillero. Or maybe you've come in search of some Home Alone-like debauchery when you learn that we've accidentally left our young son behind, and he will go all out to protect our homepage from a pair of evil hackers like yourselves [insert stinkeye].
Or maybe you've come in search of wonderful exciting news that we might have to announce. Well, let's dig through the tickle trunk and see what we can find...
*CRASH!* *BANG!* *TAINT!*
...Ah yes, here's some fun news. We're pleased to announce a pair of hometown shows!!!
Two in a row at the Lo!!
Friday, November 7 - Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - Lo Pub
-&-
Saturday, November 8 - Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - Lo Pub
We've finally drank the required limit at Lo Pub to earn us another chance to play some songs, new and old, at Winnipeg's favorite new hangout.
We're going to try to keep both nights pretty unique, including the opening bands. Friday night guests will be treated to our Albertan friends, The Provincial Archive (Think: some of the best Winnipeg songs never to be written here). Saturday night we once again share the stage with our pals Chords of Canada (Think: some of the best Winnipeg songs written here).
A limited number of advanced tickets are available now in our store for only $10. There will also be some advanced tickets available at Music Trader on October 7th. Remaining tickets will be sold for $15 at the door.
But don't forget, there's still loads of fun to be had between Winnipeg and the Pacific Ocean.

08.18.08 - The Details housewarming party!
Hi and hello. We've finally moved into our new digs here at www.thedetails.ca. This new place is a little more spacious than our existing myspace page, so you no longer have to trip over past show dates or push your way through our friends list. Our pal Edmund Lam did the interior decorating. What a swell guy!
Anyways, we've been busy writing and demoing some new songs, so that we can keep things moving on the next record. But even with that goal in mind, we're not through touring 'Draw a Distance. Draw a Border.' No, we're heading out west this fall with our neighbours Novillero. Also, we may have a few ideas planned for early winter in Winnipeg and beyond.
One last thing. In our move to this new server, we seem to have lost our mailing list. To receieve updates right in your e-mail inbox, please sign up for our new mailing list on our Contact page.
Alright, that's it for now. Check back often, and please lock the door on your way out.
